The area has at times been called the home of all inclusive vacations due to the high proportion of that type of vacation package compared to other packages. So far, no definitive reason for the popularity of all inclusive Caribbean vacations has been provided but the facts speak for themselves! Many people believe that it is due to a drive to attract a greater number of tourists to the area; but there is no evidence however, that their popularity has grown specifically because of this move.
It could just be because all inclusive Caribbean vacations can be less expensive overall and easier to manage; which makes them particularly attractive for families on a budget. These vacations can even be tailored to suit individual needs where they are designed to suit a particular type of visitor. For people that already have family on the islands, their requirements are minimal; they usually only need to pay for flights, but not accommodation or activities.
Although, the average visitor will find the all inclusive Caribbean vacation the least inexpensive. Whilst many people like to book everything themselves, this isn’t always the least expensive option as operators can offer massive discounts. However tempting, this type of arrangement does not suit everyone and there are still a number of people who remain die hard independent travelers. Even after many years of all inclusive vacations, many travelers are still unsure exactly what is included in a vacation like this.
Obviously with any vacation package, the room is included in the cost unless you have just specifically booked a flight only. For example, all food, even snacks are part of the arrangement with this type of vacation; this arrangement can vary but the majority will at least supply a cooked or continental breakfast. Even now, some visitors are not sure of the difference between an all inclusive vacation and a full board package.
A full board package will include breakfast lunch and supper, but not drinks, whilst an all inclusive Caribbean vacation package will include meals and drinks. Another distinction is in the vouchers for meals, entertainment and often trips which are presented by many hotels; these are generally available at extra charge (even if they are discounted). Many all inclusive Caribbean vacations will include other recreational activities; dining at sister hotels or restaurants at no additional cost is quite normal and means you do not have to spend a great deal of money even if you leave the resort.
